Built for Builders Who Ship

A native menu-bar app that captures fast, edits without destroying your work, and keeps everything on your Mac.

Capture Anything, Instantly

Area (⌘⇧4), window (⌘⇧8), and fullscreen (⌘⇧9) capture. The screen freezes the moment you trigger — you select on a still frame instead of chasing moving UI. Multi-display, Retina-perfect, with a pixel loupe and live coordinates as you drag.

Non-Destructive by Design

Annotations live in a sidecar next to your image. Reopen any screenshot later and every arrow is still editable. "Save" flattens only when you say so.

A Real Annotation Editor

Nine tools — arrow, rectangle, ellipse, line, freehand, text, numbered counters, highlighter, and redact (blur or pixelate that actually destroys the pixels on export). Snapshot-based undo for everything.

Built-In OCR

Copy text out of any screenshot, on-device via Apple Vision. No cloud round-trip.

Beautify Backgrounds

Wrap a capture in gradient or padded backgrounds with rounded corners and a drop shadow. Seven gradient presets, custom colors, and adjustable padding — make it pretty for the tweet in two clicks.

Pin to Screen

Float any screenshot above all windows as a frameless reference — annotate it live while you work. Pin as many as you need.

The Frozen-Screen Difference

Stop chasing disappearing UI.

The instant you trigger a capture, BridgeShot freezes the screen — so menus, hovers, and tooltips stay exactly where they were. Select calmly on a still frame, every time.

  • Frozen-Screen CaptureThe screen freezes the instant you trigger a capture — select on a still frame, never chase a disappearing menu or hover state again.
  • Beautify for the ShareWrap a capture in gradient or padded backgrounds with rounded corners and a drop shadow — share-ready shots for the tweet, the PR, or the doc.
  • Pin to ScreenFloat any screenshot above all windows as a frameless reference while you work — annotate it live without leaving your flow.
  • Quick Access & HistoryEvery capture lands in a floating tray; a strip of recent shots is one hotkey away. Drag a thumbnail straight into any app.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is BridgeShot?

A native macOS screenshot and annotation app built in pure Swift. Capture on a frozen screen, annotate with nine tools, beautify backgrounds, pin shots above your windows, and copy text out with on-device OCR — all without leaving your Mac.

What platforms does it run on?

macOS only. BridgeShot is a native Swift menu-bar app — no Electron, no third-party dependencies. It requires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or newer and runs on both Apple Silicon and Intel.

Is my data private?

Yes — everything happens on-device. Captures, annotations, and OCR all run locally on your Mac via Apple frameworks. Nothing leaves your machine.

How do I get BridgeShot?

BridgeShot is currently in public beta and included with BridgeMind Pro ($50/month or $40/month annually). Pro also unlocks BridgeVoice, BridgeSpace, BridgeMCP, premium skills, and the full prompt library. As a beta, expect frequent updates — and we want your feedback.

What permissions does it need?

Just Screen Recording, which macOS requires for any capture tool — BridgeShot walks you through granting it on first launch. No Accessibility permission is required. You sign in with your BridgeMind account to activate.

Are my annotations editable later?

Always. Annotations are stored non-destructively in a sidecar file next to the image, so you can reopen any screenshot and keep editing. Flattening only happens when you explicitly save.
