Recognize quieter microphone input without needing a loud opening, and preserve soft words around louder speech.
- Speak at a comfortable volume. Quiet speech is detected in short windows so pauses do not drown it out.

- Detect quiet speech without requiring a loud first word or increased microphone gain to clear the previous volume gate.
- Preserve quieter words before and after louder speech when trimming silence.
- Continue skipping near-silent recordings and isolated microphone clicks.
