Faster push-to-talk and fewer stuck dictations
Push-to-talk responds sooner, an interrupted recording no longer blocks the next one, Bluetooth headsets keep full audio quality while BridgeVoice is idle, and paste, sign-in, subscription, and full-disk handling are more reliable.
v4.1.19
- Faster push-to-talk. The start sound and widget respond as soon as you press the shortcut, and the waveform shows your first words.
- No more stuck recordings. An interrupted recording frees itself automatically, and a press that has to wait tells you why.
- Bluetooth headsets sound right. AirPods and other Bluetooth headsets return to full-quality playback while BridgeVoice is idle on macOS and Windows.
Changed
- Push-to-talk responds sooner: the start sound and widget no longer wait on other work, the hidden widget stays ready on macOS, the waveform shows your first words, and the first dictation after waking your computer no longer waits for a sign-in refresh.
- Show a short notice when a shortcut press has to wait for the previous dictation, Polish, a settings change, or a model switch to finish.
- Explain empty transcriptions: the widget now says whether the recording was too short, too quiet, distorted, or not recognized.
- Name Polish in its rate-limit message.
- Diagnostics now separate the causes of empty transcriptions, microphone failures, and connection problems, and no longer report expected cases such as cancelled recordings, lapsed subscriptions, and expired sessions as errors. They still exclude audio, transcript text, and device names.
Fixed
- Free the recording slot automatically when a recording is interrupted before it is submitted, for example by a widget reload. Previously every later shortcut press could be refused until you restarted BridgeVoice.
- Release AirPods and other Bluetooth microphones 10 seconds after dictating on macOS and Windows, so music and calls return to full quality. The first dictation after that pause waits briefly while the headset switches modes.
- Paste into Slack, VS Code, Chrome, and other Chromium-based apps on macOS when they update their accessibility information during a dictation, instead of asking you to paste manually.
- Keep your dictation on the clipboard when macOS Accessibility permission is missing, with steps to paste it and turn the permission on. Onboarding's Accessibility row now opens the Accessibility settings.
- Paste automatically into XWayland apps from the Linux AppImage on GNOME and other Wayland desktops.
- Let the Linux AppImage register its shortcut on Wayland desktops that use xdg-desktop-portal 1.21 or newer.
- On Windows, explain how to allow microphone access when privacy settings or security software block every microphone, instead of showing a raw error.
- Unlock dictation on the next shortcut press after you renew or fix a payment in the browser, and show the same Pro status in the dashboard that the shortcut uses.
- Retry account checks automatically after your computer wakes from sleep, and say BridgeMind can't be reached instead of saying your session expired when you start offline.
- When your disk is full, keep your saved session instead of signing you out, tell you once, stop model downloads right away with the space needed, and resume saving as soon as space returns.
